Colby Industries (now Colby Phillips Advisory) has excited to celebrate success in the South Australian Future Jobs Fund (FJF) program (www.safa.sa.gov.au/all-news/Future-Jobs-Fund) for two of our clients, a mushroom producer that secured a $0.5M grant, and ready-to-eat food manufacturer that was offered a $3M loan.

In both cases, Dr Chris Colby, Director and Principal Consultant, helped the businesses develop their proposed FJF project and prepared their grant application.  This included confirming project scope, preparing and/or reviewing capital works budgets, market research, financial modelling of business profitability, economic impact analysis of job creation, and writing and submitting their project plan and application documentation.

Upon notification of FJF grant or loan offer, we worked with both clients to review and negotiate their Grant Deeds with the South Australia Government, to minimise that contractual risk and ensure payment milestones would support successful project implementation. 

During this process, we helped one of the clients identify that grant terms and conditions being proposed could place their business at future financial risk, and consequently they (prudently) declined the FJF program offer of assistance.
